Laurentian Online Banking – Laurentian Bank of Canada Online

Despite being one of the top 10 Canadian banks, Laurentian (Laurentian Bank of Canada / Banque Laurentienne du Canada) offers a poor online banking experience.
In a nutshell Laurentian online banking lacks most features that we expect from a decent online banking portal, and as an actual online bank this portal would go belly-up very quickly, so it’s good that Laurentian mostly specializes on old school face-to-face business practice in its bank branches mostly spread throughout Quebec.
Laurentian bank’s online section offers:
- Account balance and history.
- Transfers of funds between user’s accounts.
- Ability to pay bills online.
- Statements downloads for Quicken, etc…
- Account profile changes
Sorely lacking is the ability to send or receive Interac e-mail money transfers that most other Canadian financial institutions offer in their online banking systems. Also, you can’t stop cheque payments through Laurentian’s online banking, there’s very little to none value-adding tools available, and overall the Laurentian online banking site’s user interface looks archaic.
On the plus side, Laurentian bank does guarantee your money back in case someone hacks into your online bank account.
